Text Box: A mother, wishing to encourage her young son's progress at the piano, bought tickets for a Paderewski performance. When the night arrived, they found their seats near the front of the concert hall and eyed the majestic Steinway waiting on stage. Soon the mother found a friend to talk to, and the boy slipped away. When eight o'clock arrived, the spotlights came on, the audience quieted, and only then did they notice the boy on the bench, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." His mother gasped, but before she could retrieve her son, the master appeared on stage and quickly moved to the keyboard. He whispered to the boy, "Don't quit - keep playing." Leaning over Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around the other side, encircling the child, and added a running obbligato. Together, the old master and the young novice held the crowd mesmerized. In our lives, unpolished as we may be, it is the Master who surrounds us and whispers in our ear, time and again, "Don't quit-keep playing." And as we do, as a nation and as a congregation, or as individuals, God augments and supplements until a work of amazing beauty is created.

JULY. 2006
I can tell that God is already at work among you here at Kingswood. Your words and gestures of welcome have been a warm, sincere melody to this newly assigned pastor. Your relationships with former pastors, with each other and with newcomers have all been natural and symphonic. Such harmony does not occur by accident. It is God-inspired. Such inspiration cannot happen unless people are open to being transformed by the Eternal. In God's hands our small stars become blazing, blinding, searing suns. "Don't quit-keep playing."

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN NEWS
The Lydia Circle is still enjoying working for our mission project - West Wilmer Community. On June 3, nine youth and three adults from the community went on a weeklong mission work trip to Mexico. Our Circle provided all the personal items, such as shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, towels, bath cloths, and much more for all 12 going on the trip. We put extras of everything in bags for the youth to hand out when they arrived in Mexico.
The Priscilla circle is having their yearly yard sale fundraiser Saturday, July 15. Keep on clearing out your "junk" and save it for the sale. Just bring it to the gym. A Car Show and Cookout will be held at the same time by the United Methodist Men. Call Cindy Collette, Lauri Rhodes, or Debbie Jordan for more information.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the United Methodist Women please contact me for more information. Debbie Jordan (661-4974)
EQUIPMENT NEEDS
Lacefield Hall desperately needs the water heater replaced with one that will keep the hot water coming for as long as it takes to get the dishes clean. Also the lawn tractor keeps breaking down and needs to be replaced soon. If you would like to make a contribution toward these items of equipment it would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you, the Trustees

BLUE LAKE CHRISTIAN ASHRAM
Mark your calendars for Friday through Sunday, August 4, 5, and 6 for a time to get away from the phone, computer, TV, etc., etc. and spend some time of refreshment of your spiritual life. Reverend Andy Allen is the Bible teacher. There is also time for fellowship, fun, and great Blue Lake food! All ages benefit. In fact, Miss Audrey and Miss Marti are children and youth leaders! Brochures with registration forms and more information are in the office. Call Miriam Pittman at 661-6956 if you have any questions. Jesus is Lord!
Music Notes
We had a great time last month at Quartenote Camp. Thank you so much for your financial support. We were able to give camperships to our campers which was greatly appreciated by the parents! A big thank you also goes to Winnie Phillips who served as our camp nurse and to Bill Hussong who served as a color group leader and also helped with the handbell classes. A very big thanks goes to Butch Davis and Jim Stokley who transported our campers in our new bus. They enjoyed the ride and entertained Butch with their "Are we there yet?" every few miles.
Earlier last month I attended the AGEHR Summer Handbell Seminar in Vicksburg, MS. For two days I attended classed, rang in a mass choir and was able to see new music and new handbell supplies. This workshop is a valuable tool for handbell directors and I always come back with more knowledge.
Kingswood will be hosting "Calling All Pianists" Organ Workshop on Saturday, July 29 sponsored by Dollarhide Music in Pensacola. This workshop will be designed for any pianist who wants to learn how to play the organ. Dollarhide Music sponsors these events in several areas and we are glad to be able to be a part of this.
Thank you for your support toward our Children's Music Program.
