General Administration Information

ADMINISTRATION

The book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church clearly defines the local church as a community of true believers under the Lordship of Christ. It is the redemptive fellowship in which the Word of God is preached and the Sacraments are duly administered according to Christ's own appointment. Under the discipline of the Holy Spirit the Church exists for the maintenance of worship, the edification of believers and the redemption of the world. In order to accomplish these ideals, organization and careful administration are required. The programs and policies of the church are determined by its membership elected to serve in various areas of responsibilities.

COUNCIL ON MINISTRIES

The purpose of the Council on Ministries is to coordinate and lead the five work teams of Kingswood United Methodist Church. These work teams are committed to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

The Great Commandment

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the prophets hang on these two commandments."

The Great Commission

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age."
