YOUTH NEWS FROM MR.JACK

It was July 21st and I knew there was something that I was forgetting. I sat down
in front of my computer and a gentle reminder from Karen Pulliam about the
August newsletter reminded me.

It had been a busy month with the July 4th holiday and mission week starting and the plans for the rafting trip. The Auburn Traveling Caravan was in town and helped with Sunday evening service and did a really nice 3 day program with the Youth.

On Monday we cleaned up at Melissa Toumey’s grandfathers house. Melissa lost her grandfather a little over a month ago and her father has had several strokes.
They are trying to get the house ready to sell but with the yard overgrown they
were not having much luck. The youth really put their backs into and when we were done it looked like a different house. The only problem we had was yellow jackets but the only person they stung was me. I guess they only sting the sweetest.

On Tuesday we went over to Whistler UMC and helped with a day camp for the kids from the neighborhood. We have made new friends and have a better appreciation for all of our blessings. After the camp was over for the day we went bowling and back to Foosackly’s for some chicken. I am not sure if the
bowling alley will ever be the same. I know that Mallory and Ashlee have left
marks on the alley. Allie and Olivia can be heard over all the noise in the place
when they get a strike. Von is a better golfer than bowler and Tess and Hope like
to take pictures. Ann Marie, Rachel and Rebecca will need to work on their form
and Bailey and Paige might need to use the bumpers. Katy gave me a run but
I put her down in the end. Jill and Brandy were quietly middle of the pack and
moving up when the time ran out.

Wednesday morning we went back to Whistler and continued with the day camp kids. Between paint, story time, and games I am not sure who is more tired. The kids from the neighborhood or the Youth of Kingswood.

It was back to Whistler on Thursday and then on to Karen and Jeff Pulliam’s house for a swim party.

Friday saw us on the road to the Ocoee river and some white water rafting fun.The Youth have worked hard and deserved a little break.

Kingswood should be so proud of the young people and what they mean to the community around. We are looking forward to our new additions to the youth group. Samantha,
Maggie, and Robert will be officially welcomed with a lock in on August 13th.

Calling all Youth to join us for food, fun and fellowship and maybe a little bit of
sleep.

As always, keep the youth in your prayers.

God bless,

Mr. Jack
